World Book Day 2024 – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…. Re-read!

8th March 2024 By lisagillis

Wow… what a day! There is no doubt that World Book Day 2024 has been one of our greatest yet. The children of St James fully embraced our theme ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle… Re-read’ to the max and have blown us away with some incredible homemade props, accessories and costumes which linked to our theme. World Book Day is about the celebration of reading and one particular book has been at the heart of our day.

‘Mother Earth is Weeping’ is a story which focuses on how we can better our world and become more environmentally friendly. The children have produced some beautiful poetry based on this which will form one of our first display boards when we are all together back in our St James building. The author of our story, Claire Donald, has been in touch and is also blown away with the children’s efforts. She has kindly offered to judge our ‘trashion walk’ competition and the winners will be announced next week.
