Film Club
Film club gives your child a chance to experience and evaluate a variety of films in a safe, happy and structured setting. Our Film Club currently runs in school for our Year 5 children every Wednesday 3:30 – 4:30pm for the full school year.
Arts Award
At St James’ we give 10 of our Year 6 pupils the opportunity to take part in Arts Award Explore which is a nationally recognised qualification. The qualification is designed to encourage children to actively take part in visual art activities such as visiting galleries, looking at artists’ work, creating art and designing their own exhibitions. Arts Award runs in school every Thursday 3:30 – 4:30 More information can be found here
Craft Club
Craft Club gives our Year 3 and 4 children the opportunity to develop their skills in Arts and Crafts. Craft Club runs in school every Tuesday 3:30 – 4:30pm each half term.
Mini Vinnies
Mini Vinnies gives our KS2 children the chance to be part of the St Vincent de Paul (SVP) Society England and Wales. The SVP is an organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms. Mini Vinnies meet to pray, discuss and support however they can to help make a difference in their community. Mini Vinnies runs in school every Wednesday 3:30 – 4:30pm. Singing Club
Singing club is a wonderful opportunity for our KS2 children to develop their knowledge of song in a safe and encouraging environment. The club takes place on a Monday evening from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. The club will be taken by Andrew Richardson our specialist pianist who is well known to the children.
SAFC Clubs at St James’
Little Dribblers
Little Dribblers is specifically designed to engage young children in fun sport and learning activities, while making raising their confidence, independence and coordination.
Ran by our specialist SAFC PE coach Dom, Little Dribblers ensures that youngsters develop interpersonal skills, promote problem-solving skills and introduces concepts such as spatial awareness, all while having lots of fun with a football. Little Dribblers Club runs in school every Thursday 3:30 – 4:30pm and alternates half-termly between our Year 1 and Year 2 children.
Sports Club
Our Sports Club familiarises children with the building block techniques of football, such as dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting.
Each session is delivered by our specialist SAFC PE coach Dom, with an emphasis on fun and engagement, with the technical aspects being developed during small-sided games with age appropriate questions, demonstrations and challenges. Sports Club runs in school every Wednesday 3:30 – 4:30pm and alternates half-Termly between our Year 3 and Year 4 children.
