At St James we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by recycling. We love the world that God entrusted us with and want to always take care of our beautiful Earth. With this in mind we are holding a uniform recycling table after school in the hall each day this week. Please come along and pick up your nearly new/used uniform for FREE from 3:30 – 4pm each day.
The week will involve various sports; including football, cricket, gymnastics, rounders, tennis, hockey and will involve fun based activities such as water games, crash mat tournaments and tug of war competitions.

A huge thank you to our local author Tracey Horner who came to visit us in school. We really enjoyed your visit and loved your stories and activities!
Our whole school took part in a Summer Sponsored Walk in response to Pope Francis’ invitation in Laudato Si’ to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted us.”
We hoped to raise as much money as we could for CAFOD so that they can continue their mission to reach out to people living in poverty with practical help. You can find out more about CAFOD and the wonderful work they do via this link https://cafod.org.uk Our children and families enjoyed coming together for this occasion and it was great to see so many of you.
We are completely astounded by the generosity and compassion of our St James school community. So far we have raised a jaw dropping amount of money to help our brothers and sisters who are in such desperate need. The total so far stands at just over £900 with monies still arriving daily.
This proves that alone we can only do only a little but together we can do so much! Well done and thank you to all!
- We are also asking for prizes for our big raffle if you know anyone who owns a business who would like to donate please send them our way!
- Please donate used bottle bags for our stalls.
- If you would like to rent a stall it is £10 per table
CBBC are looking for budding young designers aged 10-14 years old, (they must be aged 11 by September 1st 2023)
In each episode we will see young creative minds come together to create bold and colourful outfits reusing, re-claiming and upcycling fabulous fashion by using only vintage, second-hand and sustainable materials.
The children will need to be great designers but do not necessarily have to be great with a sewing machine as they’ll be paired with a creative who can help them cut/sew/stitch/paint their outfits within a few hours!
