Year 4 had a wonderful day at the Oriental Museum in Durham.
In the morning, they took the role of archaeologists to explore life in Ancient Egypt by investigating artefacts and carrying out gallery trails.
After a lovely picnic lunch in the grounds of the museum, the children met a three-thousand-year mummified priestess in her sarcophagus! Additionally, the children took part in a drama session re-enacting the mummification process. Fantastic acting skills from the whole class.
We were so proud of their enthusiasm, teamwork skills and exceptional behaviour. A real credit to St James and well done for such a brilliant day.
