This week, Year 4 have been taking part in the ‘Rain Gardens in Schools’ project with Durham Wildlife Trust. Year 4 have been learning about the impact of flooding due to the increase in more intense, wetter weather as well as the effect that substances such as concrete and tarmac has on the environment.
They carried out a range of experiments, creating a set of instructions, an outdoor quiz trail and then created our first rain garden on the school grounds.
As always, we were impressed with the children’s enthusiasm and their dedication to caring for God’s world.
