School’s out for Summer 2023!

22nd July 2023 By lisagillis

We would like to wish Mrs Moan (Joan) our dinner nanny a wonderful and well-deserved retirement and thank her for her many years of devoted service to St James. We would also like to wish the best of luck to Mrs Smith as she moves to pastures new. Last but not least we would like to wish Miss Tweedy, Miss Anderson and Mrs Garrido the best of luck as they move on in the Autumn term.

Our Year 6 children have had a fun packed final half term with us. The Leavers Mass and Assembly were a touching celebration of these wonderful children. We wish them a fond farewell. They are moving forward with St James roots and are sure to blossom as they grow.

We would like to thank all of the parents and carers for your wonderful gifts and cards. Each year we feel really humbled by your generosity as a school community. These gifts are never expected but are truly and greatly appreciated.

We wish you all a wonderful summer together and hope our children and families have a safe, loving and happy time making memories and having fun!

We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 5th September 2023.

HAPPY SUMMERTIME EVERYONE!

We raised £2000 for CAFOD

14th July 2023 By lisagillis

St James took part in a whole school Sponsored Summer Walk together in aid of CAFOD. It was absolutely brilliant to see so many friendly faces. The walk was a massive success and was enjoyed by our whole school community.
Boy did we respond to Pope Francis’ invitation in Laudato Si’ to “work with generosity and tenderness in protecting this world which God has entrusted us” WE RAISED £2000 FOR CAFOD. Wow!
St James are proud to support this charity who fight to make sure that every woman, man and child can live a full and dignified life. It just shows that when we come together we can do so much. Thank you to everyone!
You can learn more about CAFOD and the hard work they do via this link cafod.org.uk

St James Summer fete raises £1500

14th July 2023 By lisagillis

Our Summer Fete was once again a HUGE success. Our children and families love this event and it really brings our school community together. We would like to thank you all for your donations of toys, books, raffle and tombola prizes without all of the support from our school community we really couldn’t do it! Special thanks to Mrs Hudson and all of our school staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to organise and prepare for the day. A special thanks to Sara and her daughters, our parents and grandparents who volunteered on the day.
Our Summer Fete raised over £1500 for our School Fund, this is so important for all of our children and means that we can continue to subsidise lovely activities throughout the terms to offer enrichment opportunities for all. We can’t thank everyone enough and I’m sure you’ll all agree it’s always a pleasure to see Mr Monaghan in the stocks 😉
