14th September 2021 By Admin Linda

We had a fantastic afternoon at our Christmas party today. The Year 1 boys and girls all looked spectacular. We enjoyed dancing, played some party games and Santa had even left a present for us too. A great time was had by all.

Virtual Travelling Crib 2020

14th September 2021 By Admin Linda

Dear Parents and Carers,

Things have been very different this year for everyone. But as Christmas approaches, we wanted to make sure that the spirit of that special day that we remember each year, wasn’t lost.

So please see attached the virtual travelling crib letter. There are sheets for the children to complete or use a template to complete on their own sheet of paper. There is also a video from our lovely Year 6 children on Google Classroom, showing how you might take part at home. This will also be available on Google Classroom.

Merry Christmas everyone,

Mrs Scott

Films and clips on Social Media

14th September 2021 By Admin Linda

Dear Parents and Carers,

In the last few days we have become aware of one or two safeguarding concerns regarding social media apps and games.  Therefore, this post is just to remind everyone of how to stay safe online and how to ensure children are accessing appropriate content online as well. As you may be aware of, sometimes there are films and clips on the internet that are nasty and inappropriate. It is our aim to advise you wherever possible on how to keep children safely away from such content.

Outdoor Learning Day – Year 1

14th September 2021 By Admin Linda

We had a fabulous day during our ‘Outdoor Learning Day’ in Year 1 today. We discussed and investigated the various leaves on the playground, the season of Autumn and took some bark rubbings from the trees. We also made a cosy, little den for the mice that might be starting to hibernate soon.

Also, we couldn’t forget about Bonfire Night so we created an amazing fireworks display using leaves, sticks and chalk. It was such a fun and exciting day!

Horror at Max level with Ofsted lurking!

14th September 2021 By Admin Linda

Hats off to every single child who got involved in all things Halloween before the half-term break. As you know, Year 5 were off. But that didn’t stop Max Donnelly giving all of the staff at St James a mighty scare and a much needed laugh. He certainly looks the part as an Ofsted inspector, and I will be sure to keep on my toes in case he comes knocking again anytime soon.

In the unprecedented times we all face as a family at St James, little things like this can really lighten the mood. Good lad Max!
